Some decisions are irreversible. The fire is already lit, the retreat already impossible. This painting doesn't depict the historical event so much as inhabit the feeling of it — the moment when something is deliberately, permanently ended.

Built primarily with a palette knife and finished with brush in select areas, the surface carries the physical weight of that finality. Layers of crimson, deep red, and earth tones rise from a dark ground, the texture catching light the way embers do.

This is what the Internal looks like — not a record of events, but the residue they leave behind.
